DIY Room Projects!

There are some times when you look at your room and you feel like it could use some pizazz.
If you're feeling like your room is a bit too dull for your liking, then give these D.I.Y. room projects a try!

D.I.Y. project #1: A Picture heart.
I know that I'm a girly girl through and through, so I really like this project. All you have to do is find some pictures that mean something to you, whether it be your family, friends, pets, etc, and print them out on photo paper. Then, put them on your wall, and arrange them into the shape of a heart! You can do it however you like, small hearts, one big heart, whatever you want! Just have fun with it, and play around with what you like best.

D.I.Y project #2: Fall room decor!
Since it is fall currently, why not dress your room up for this warm and cozy season? You can do a bunch of different things with this, but I'm just going to share two of my favorites with you. 1, you can get a couple of pumpkins from the store, and some gold, silver, or black metallic paint. Take the metallic paint and paint circles evenly around the pumpkin. And voila! Cute room decor, and fast! Now on to number 2. Get a big glass jar, and some fake(or real, if you prefer) leaves, and get an autumn scented potpourri, and fill the jar 1/4 of the way with the potpourri, and 1/4 of the way up with leaves, and continue to do that until you reach the top, and you have great smelling, cute room decor.

D.I.Y Project #3: "Fairy trapped in a jar"
I know, I know, the name needs a little work, but, this d.i.y is a really cute idea to jazz up your room. Get several different sizes of jars, and several different colors of glow-in-the-dark paint. With some paint brushes, take a jar, and a color of paint, and start making dots on the inside of varying sizes. Do this with each color to each jar, and you have, "Fairies trapped in jars". It's a fun source of light, and a cool project to do with friends, too!

Now, if all else fails, do the simple Christmas lights over the window, and the patterned cut-out letter quotes, and you should be fine.

I hope that with these d.i.y ideas, you'll give your room some style and uniqueness. Have fun with this and play with things that match your style!

Fall Fashion 2013 Color Guide!

This fall season, everyone will be asking what the new color trends are... Since they vary every year and according to what's in style, we all need the 411. Here are a few of the must-have colors for fall in a color guide made just for you.

Must have color number one: Mocha.
Also, another name for warm, rich dark brown. This color has, and always will be a fall staple color. It's warm, and cozy and just a color everyone looks great in. You can accent this color with pretty much any other color, and it'll look great any way. If you only get one color in this guide, grab this one!

Must have color number two: Raspberry.
This color is beautiful in any season. It's really great for fall because it's a warm toned color which makes it fun, but still cozy. This color is great for not only accenting neutral colors, such as brown, but wearing by itself. It's the perfect color for any fall day, and it'll definitely catch someones eye.

Must have color number three: Orange.
Now, this is a bit broad, because orange can mean "bright orange road sign", or 'warm, cozy, pumpkin pie".
Let's take the pumpkin pie. Bright orange is definitely a no-no. It doesn't compliment the season and it's just tacky. Warm tones of orange are a definite yes. Orange is obviously a staple color for fall, because of the pumpkin patches, jack-o-lanterns, and it's the main color in the orange-and-black Halloween color duo. When I think of fall, I think of orange, the trees turning orange, pumpkins, the whole shebang. If you wear orange this season, you'll definitely be trendy.

Must have color number four: Dark Blue.
This color is absolutely fabulous. It's such a great color, because it's orange's contrasting color. It looks great, when seen outside around the orange colored leaves. It also is great, because it's a nice difference between all of the warm colors seen around this time of year.

Must have color number five: Dark, Hunter Green.
This color is great for fall. Number one, it's hunting season, and two, it's a good contrast against the reds, yellows, and oranges. It's very nice and cozy and it really fits in well with the atmosphere. Green is always a good color to wear in basically any season, and it looks good with virtually any skin tone or hair color.

These colors are trendy and great to wear for this current fall season, and I hope you take this color guide and make it your own, finding outfits that you love for fall.

How to Beat that Cold Weather!

Since summer has melted into fall, and in a short while it'll be winter, I'm giving you some ideas on how to beat that chilly weather.

Idea number one: LAYER UP!
If you get cold, it's always a good idea to wear layers! a long sleeved shirt, and a jacket could suffice, but if it's really cold you can pair a coat and scarf with that. Jackets and Long sleeved shirts always give you that perfect sense of warmth without going too far. Scarves are always perfect too, because they'll look good with almost any outfit, and keep you warm!

Idea number two: Warm Drinks!
You can never go wrong with a cup of hot chocolate or a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. Warm drinks are perfect for the fall and winter because they taste so good and they keep you warm at the same time. They also really get you into the mood of the season, and that's always good, right?
If you're not into fancy drinks, then a good old cup of coffee will do the trick too.

Idea number three: Make a fireplace!
Fireplaces aren't something that a lot of people use now a days, but if you want to be warm and cozy it's a good idea. Fireplaces are warm and cozy and they really get you into the mood of fall and winter. You could always have a little get-together with family and friends and sit around the fireplace and hang out. It's a good time to talk or just be together.

Idea number four: Just stay at home!
If all else fails, just stay at home! I know it sounds dumb and boring, but really, it's one of the best ways to beat the cold weather. Sitting on the couch, snuggled up in a blanket, reading a good book or watching a good movie seems like a pretty good idea to me! This gives you some alone time, and time to just relax and unwind.

Fall and Winter are both coming up very soon, so it's going to get pretty chilly outside. I hope you'll take these ideas and run with them, and I hope you enjoy these upcoming seasons! Stay warm, Stay happy, and Stay Fab. Xx

Nail Tips and Tricks

Everyone wants the perfect manicure, but sometimes it's harder than it seems. Here are a few nail tips and tricks to get the perfect manicure, easily.

Trick/Tip number one: How to dry your nails faster.
If you're impatient like most people, when waiting for your nails to dry, let them air dry for a few minutes then dunk them in ice water for 3 minutes to dry them faster. It's easier and a great idea for those impatient girls out there.

Trick/Tip number two: Creative design ideas.
a. If you want a creative nail look that looks cute and fun, take a piece of a loofah, and put it on your nail. Paint what ever polish you want the design to be on top of it, then slowly peel it off. Cute, fun and easy!

b. If you want a fun, colorful nail design, take a makeup sponge and put a bright color of nail polish on it. Sponge the color onto your nail, on top of the base color you've already applied and voila! It's a great look if you want a really fun and colorful nail look.

Trick/Tip number three: Homemade dotting tools!
If you don't want to spend to money or just simply can't afford those expensive dotting tools, then here's a perfect solution... just stick a pin into a pencil eraser! It's simple, fast, and inexpensive. It does the same thing that those expensive professional dotting tool do, but with out the $$$ spent.

Trick/Tip number four: Get the perfect polish job, just like the manicurists do it.
Follow this diagram to achieve the perfect nail polish job like a professional.

Trick/Tip number five: Use multiple thin coats, not a big thick one!
When applying your nail polish, use multiple thin coats instead of one thick one. The nail polish will only dry at the top layer and make it more vulnerable to smudges if you use a thick coat. So, stick with multiple thin coats for a clean, smudge free nail look.

Trick/Tip number six: Use thick hand cream if you have pale skin!
If you have pale skin, and are removing dark nail polish, it will stain your fingers and ultimately look terrible. Apply a thick nail cream before removing your dark nail polish to prevent this from happening.

Follow these nail tips and tricks to achieve flawless, professional nails at home!

The Do's and Don'ts of School Makeup

There are many Do's and Don'ts in makeup. Since we've just started the school year, I think that one of the most important types of D&Ds currently, have to do with 'School Makeup'. So, therefore these are my 'Do's and Don'ts' of school makeup.

I'm starting with the 'Do' section, so you can see what you SHOULD do first, then see why you shouldn't do the 'Don'ts'.

Our first 'Do' is 'makeup that looks like you're not wearing any makeup' aka natural makeup. A little bit of foundation and a swipe of mascara is perfect for those who don't wear that much makeup. But, for us who wear a full face of makeup everyday, that's not going to cut it. Here's a little tip; you don't have to cake on 5 pounds of makeup to look good! Actually, it makes you look worse! You can still have a full face of makeup on without it being completely noticeable! If you use foundation and powder that match your skin tone and blend it well, not many people with think that you're even wearing it! Another tip is to not wear bold colors on your lips or your eyes. Use natural and neutral colors to make it less obvious. A couple swipes of mascara and you're good to go! Let a little bit of your natural beauty shine through, and try this out.

The second 'Do' is pick eye shadow that is neutral or that accentuates your eyes. Different eye colors have different colors that really make them pop, without using neon or super bright colors to do so. If you have Brown eyes, you can pull off a lot of colors. Green, gold, and blue eye shadows look really good against your brown beauties.  If you have Blue eyes, stay far away from blue eye shadow! It drowns out the color of your ocean blues. If you really want them to pop, try earth tones like brown, taupe, and slate colored grays. If you have green or hazel eyes, like myself purples will really make those beauties pop. The color contrast will really emphasize your gorgeous eyes and make them seem more dramatic. If you want them to stand out but look more natural, which is a good thing, warm mocha tones with hints of orange and gold will be your best bet. Have fun with it and try different colors out, see which one looks best with your eyes.

The third and final 'Do' is wear some kind of lip color. You definitely do NOT want to look like a zombie walking around your school. Especially around that cute boy, I might add. Wear some kind of lip color, whether it be lip gloss, lipstick, lip stain, etc. Whatever your fancy, wear it! Red lips are always a classic, but sometimes it's a little bit over the top for school, am I right? Pink lips is always a go to for me. You can still look natural without looking dead, which is always great. If you don't want an actual color, then you can always use a lip balm or clear lip gloss to still make your lips look glossy and alive.

Now, we're to the 'Don'ts'. Take these into great consideration as you're putting on your makeup in the future. A little voice in the back of your head will be telling you to not do any of these things. LISTEN TO IT.

Our first 'Don't' is do not, under any circumstances be a 'Cake Face'. What is a cake face, you ask? It is the person, we all know who cakes on 10 pounds of makeup onto their face and it looks absolutely terrible. Yeah. Don't do that. Take my tip from the first Do. You don't have to cake on the pounds of makeup to look pretty. It has to get heavy at some point, so why do it? Everyone has natural beauty. Let people see yours! You're beautiful. Show it.

Our second 'Don't' is don't make your eyeliner really thick. A thin line will do. Eyeliner really isn't a necessity for everyday makeup. You only really need it to accentuate your eyes more than you already do. Thick eyeliner isn't really "in style" anymore. It makes your eyes look smaller and your style look darker. People will think one thing of you, when it's not your intent. Now, that isn't always the case, but most of the time that is what happens. I tell you from experience. Just avoid thick bold lines of eyeliner, and go for thin ones instead.

Our third and final 'Don't' is don't choose an eye shadow, blush or any makeup color that doesn't suit you or that doesn't fit your skin tone. The goal really, is to accentuate your natural beauty, the beauty you already have. If you look like you rubbed your face with your fingers after you ate a bag of cheetos, when you're white as snow, or if you look like you haven't seen the sun in 1,000 years, when you're actually tan, then you're obviously not going to look very good. When using blush, go for a glow, not a sunburn. Look at the second do for eye shadow matching. Try to go for natural and clean. It's by far the best route, especially for school.

So, these are my 'Do's and Don'ts' of school makeup and honestly, makeup in general. Take these tips to heart and please, please, never do any of the don'ts I named. I hope you got something out of this and will keep this in mind.

Stay Fab.

Summer Trends 2013

Summer Trends 2013!

Summer 2013 is ending, and turning into Fall. That means all the summer fashion and beauty trends are being thrown out the window, and the fall trends are being put in place. So since these trends are soon to be no more, we're going to look back on some of the top trends of Summer 2013.

There were a lot of trends this summer, but one of the biggest trends this summer are high-waisted shorts. This was a really big trend this summer and people are still wearing them! High-waisted shorts are perfect for summer, especially with a crop top or a tank top. T-shirts even look great with this stylish trend!

The next trend of this summer is all about being bright and bold. Neon colors were a huge thing for summer. Turquoise, Bright Pink, and Lime Green were a few of these trendy colors. Whether they were in your eye shadow, your hair, on your clothes, or on your nails, neon was all the rage this summer 2013.
Now, everyone wants that golden glow. Especially in the summer. That's why its one of the top trends for Summer 2013.  Whether you went to the beach, laid by the pool, got a spray tan, laid in a tanning bed, or simply just used bronzer, you were definitely trending this summer if you had that bronze tan.

In the summer, you have to lay back and be casual sometimes. Maxi dresses are perfect for that. They're super comfortable and nice to chill out in. You can dress this dress up or down, whatever you choose! The bold patterns that you can choose from are fun and fabulous, the perfect combination. Whatever your style, there is a maxi dress for you. From dressy to casual, this is the perfect go to outfit for summer, and its one of the top trends for Summer 2013.

These next few trends are beauty trends. There were a lot, but I've just picked out a few.

Now, a big beauty craze this summer was dip-dyed hair. Any color, whatever you want. Two toned hair was the rage. Anyone could rock it, no matter what color your hair is! That's what I love about this trend. It looks good on everyone and you can do more than 1 color too! It's stylish and fabulous, and perfect for summer.

Natural makeup was a big trend as well, this summer. Wearing makeup, but looking like you're not. It's genius. The perfect trick to look good, but not look like you have 12 pounds of makeup on. You can wear natural makeup anywhere, its the perfect go to makeup look. Easy, simple, and gorgeous.

Beach waves are gorgeous, and easy. Plus, it looks great on anyone! Sea sprays to get those beachy mermaid waves is the perfect thing to have on hand. It's the perfect summer hairstyle, especially when your pair it with braided bangs or a headband. You can dress these up, as well as wear them casual. Whether you're at the beach, or in the city, these beach waves are always perfect.

These few trends have come, and are slowly fading away, but soon we'll have fall trends. That's a whole new ballgame. These trends were amazing whilst they lasted, and will most likely come back, but they got their start in Summer 2013.

Stay Fabulous Xx
